Additional information

This article contains a discussion of the Adam Octipartite/Septipartite tradition and the various manuscripts in which it is found, along with annotated translations of the Latin, Church Slavonic and Old Irish versions of the work. Dr Macaskill is competent in all of these languages and familiar with their manuscript traditions; he is not a specialist in Old Irish, so Dr Greenwood was invited to provide an expert translation of that version. Dr Greenwood's contribution to the study was limited to that single translation (216 words). The introduction and notes to the Old Irish version were researched and written by Dr Macaskill.
