Additional information

Investigation of wear of a new commercial tibial tray design from DePuy International, which demonstrated a wear reduction compared to previously used titanium tray under high kinematic demand. An example of simulation beyond ISO14243-3 standard conditions to differentiate performance in high demand patients using methods developed in Leeds. This work was presented at the 2008 World Biomaterials Congress (Netherlands) and was carried out through our ongoing technology partnership collaboration with DePuy in knees (>£1m) (contact Cath Hardaker, chardake@its.jnj.com). Research has also supported our collaboration and commercialisation of knee simulation systems by Simulation Solutions (contact Nick Eldred, nick.eldred@simsol.co.uk).
