Energetic and environmental benefits of co-digestion of food waste and cattle slurry: a preliminary assessment
Significance of output:
This study presents the conceptual basis for the 'Hub and PoD' system for food waste digestion, now being trialled with funding from the Waste and Resources Action programme (WRAP) in Powys and Camden1, 2, 3. The idea has been promoted in a report by the Royal Agricultural Society of England4, and has generated widespread discussion in industry5, 6. It was an invited presentation to the ADBA conference7, and forms part of an invited chapter in the Biogas Handbook8.
