Optimal integration strategies for a syngas fuelled SOFC and gas turbine hybrid
To overcome the threats posed by climate change, advanced clean energy technologies are urgently needed. Although hybrid fuel cells have emerged as attractive power generation solutions, this is the first paper to present fundamental analysis and an optimisation framework, to choose design parameters and performance sensitivity. This work enables prediction of the performance characteristics of a wide range of hybrid systems working with syngas. This framework will be the basis for determination of future system performance capability and robustness to fuel concentration variations; the methodology is expected to be taken up widely by international researchers.
