Optimisation of PCPDTBT solar cells using polymer synthesis with Suzuki coupling
Several international groups (Wantz [Bordeaux], Wuerst [Montréal], Kanbara [Tsukuba], LeClerc [Laval], Maes [IMEC]), interested in the effect of residual catalyst impurities on OFET and OPV performance, have cited this work. The work has led to two continuing international collaborations : 1) with a synthetic chemist (Prof Masaki Horie, Tsing-Hua University,China ) yielding 6 journal papers including Macro.Rapid Comm. 2012, J. Mat Chem 2012 and 2013, Org. Electron. 2013 ; 2) with Dr Joe O’Mahony, Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland, on scanning probe measurements, leading to the €1.8M Interreg Wales-Ireland Innovative Photovoltaic Technology Project (‘WIN-IPT’ ).
