Additional information

<02>Funded by DTI/TSB (FireGrid project, TP/3/DSM/6/I/16191). System developed to give the emergency services vital advanced knowledge about the fire they are attending, how it will progress and where victims may be trapped. Combines advanced sensors, computational models, grid computing and multi-agent system technologies for next-generation emergency response support. Experimental results on a large-scale fire demonstrate that FireGrid can provide vital information to emergency responders, supporting critical decision-making and contributing to effective emergency management. FireGrid will save lives and property by providing emergency responders with predictions of the likely sequence of events following the outbreak of fire in a building.
