Additional information

The study explains, for the first time, why highly loaded stages have not been successful when included in high efficiency axial compressors. In its conference form, this paper received the IGTI Best Compressor Paper Award for 2009. General Electric Aviation, USA, have requested a copy of the thesis on which this paper is based, and are using the results to guide future research in this area.
