Additional information

In this work, a new compound class approach is used to represent any hydrocarbon stream (with boiling range up 700 C) via a modified molecular-type homologous series (MTHS) matrix. It is an innovative and practical approach to characterize complex heavy petroleum fractions with molecular composition, which can derive detailed molecular composition information from measured bulk properties. The significance of the progress is that the detailed kinetic models for refining processes can be applied without the need of expensive and time-consuming laboratory analysis.
