Detection of Salmonella typhimurium using an electrochemical immunosensor.
This work led to a Plenary lecture (Tothill) at AsiaSense 2013 (Dr. Jaafar Abdullah, jaafar@science.upm.edu.my), and a best paper prize at the Genomics and Proteomics of Human Pathogens Conference, June 2009, Health Protection Agency (Now Public Health England) (Prof. Haroun Shah, Centre for Infections, London, Haroun.shah@phe.gov.uk). Developments of the sensor for virus detection led to a collaboration with CINVESTAV National Polytechnical Institute, Mexico (Dr Munoz, lmunoz@cinvestav.mx), and a Key Note lecture invitation at Nanomechanical Sensing (2011, Dublin). Tothill was also invited, by the European Food Standard Agency, to act as an international expert in evaluating nanomaterial use in foods (Brazil, 2011).
