Classification of personnel targets by acoustic micro-doppler signatures
This research was funded by the EPSRC and the UK MoD through a University Defence Research Centre (UDRC) grant (EP/H011625, £95k). It resulted in the collection of micro-Doppler signatures of personnel targets at 80 kHz for the first time and led to a collaboration with the European Commission Joint Research Centre to investigate its extension to detect underwater asymmetric threats (Contact franco.oliveri@jrc.ec.europa.eu). The output forms part of two NATO reports (RTO-EN-SET-172, 2011 and RTO-EN-SET-172-2012, 2012) and led to an invitation to present the results at a workshop (W20: MicroDoppler Analysis - Signatures & Applications) at the European Microwave Week conference (EuRAD) 2011.
