Additional information

Results from a project partially supported by the Torr Lodge & Applecross Trust for the UK foundry industry. Defects in cast metals are a major cost in manufacturing and methodologies for tracking stuck defects are widely sought by the CFD community. Software companies MAGMAsoft (Jorg.Sturm@magmasoft.de) and Flow3D (Tom Jensen, tsj@flow3d.com) supported the work by providing licences. Both are now incorporating results of this research into their products.
