Dissemination of the methods presented in the paper resulted in new collaborations and grants with Karolinska Institut, Sweden, and Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), Germany. This includes £29,000 from the Royal Society Paul Instrument Fund, £4,490 in travel grants from The Royal Society and The Royal Academy of Engineering, and a £10,655 EPSRC grant (EP/D025591/1) for the Hyaluronic Acid Study in Sweden. This output also led to company SSL contracting Goodyer to carry out a study on the lubricity of oils used in their condom range (contact: Head of Technical Services at SSL).
