Additional information

This work extends research along the interesting avenue of Reuleaux plasticity (see CMAME 199 paper) by providing non-associated flow solutions, intersecting cones (tension cut-off) and a finite deformation framework. As with all of Crouch’s REF2014 output, a careful description of the (complicated) stress return is provided and benchmark problems illustrate the performance of the model and integration scheme. Figure 8 highlights how return errors can occur at edges when the trial stress falls in the corner zone. This is not widely appreciated (most workers assume the return is to the corner) but the correct solution is explained here.
