Jungwirth theoretically predicted the effect described in this paper, carried out data analysis and performed most of the theoretical calculations reported. Jungwirth and Wunderlich took the lead in writing the paper. Jungwirth was principal investigator on grants funding the work, which was performed as part of an ongoing collaboration between the Nottingham spintronics group and the Prague and Hitachi groups.
