Additional information

Through detailed modelling, supported by experimental data, this paper provided insight into the generation of detectable particles through interactions between neutrons and detector substrate materials. This has led to further instrument development including a novel miniature neutron spectrometer (UK patent application GB2492999). This device is currently being developed in collaboration with STFC ISIS for applications including Chipir.
