Recent estuarine sedimentation rates from shallow inter-tidal environments in western Scotland: implications for future sea-level trends and coastal wetland development
This output focusses on very recent relative sea level change, a topic which is highlighted in the 2013 IPCC. The work combines high-resolution radiometric, geochemical, palaeoecological and geotechnical/sedimentological analyses to show an increased rate in regional sea level rise in the late 20th Century. A significant finding was the recognition of that variations in sea level change can occur at a much faster rate than predicted by most model predictions. This has implications for both the scientific and coastal management communities at a local and global scale. The journal’s impact factor is 4.076
