Additional information

The model for interactive degradation reported in this paper is being used to improve the maintenance of heat exchanger systems at ExxonMobil (contact Mr Chris Riches, ID_in_audit_file@exxonmobil.com, Reliability and Maintenance Management Specialist, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering). An extended version of this model resulted in a successful project with Hitachi Rail to improve its train fleet’s brake maintenance program which saved the company GBP200k (contact Mr. Ian Clayton ID_in_audit_file@hitachirail-eu.com, Maintenance Delivery Manager, Hitachi Rail Europe). This also led to a GBP270k research project funded by Hitachi Europe titled “Fault-diagnosis process and fault-data management for locomotive systems” (RG68312).
