Resulted in GBP300k STAR CHIST-ERA project (EP/K018116/1) and the inclusion of low energy photonic switch research for reducing the energy cost of data centres in the INTERNET Programme Grant (EP/H040536/1 - value of switch work ~GBP400k) at its mid-term review. Led to invitation to join global Green Internet Greentouch initiative (www.Greentouch.org). Bell Labs are supporting the work and will undertake a fabrication run for this technology (ID_in_audit_file@alcatel-lucent.com). Also led to appointment of Penty to steering committee of EU JEPPIX foundry programme representing user base (ID_in_audit_file@tue.nl). Resulted in tutorial paper at POEM2011, Wuhan.
