This research led Coombs to be invited to give talks at each of the 1st and 2nd international workshops on Applied Superconductivity (2010&2011), TedXCAM(2010), CHASE(2010) and the Cambridge 100(2012). It also was the subject of two international patent applications (WO2010052482 and WO201007319). The work helped Magnifye (Coombs' spin-out company and applicant for the patents) win GBP300k funding from a major Industrial Company (name of company and contact details held in audit file) for a demonstrator magnet.
