Additional information

This research enabled solar microinverters to be realised without electrolytic capacitors and hence having an operational life exceeding 25 years. This research formed the core technology for a new startup company set up to commercialise solar microinverters, Enecsys (www.enecsys.com) in 2007. It has attracted ~ USD60M in investment and is now commercially supplying microinverters based on the fundamental power electronic topology which enabled electrolytics to be removed as reported in the paper (Mossadiq Umedaly, ID_in_audit_file@enecsys.com). The 20 year life time guarantee provided by Enecsys is one of its key performance/market advantages over other microinverter suppliers.
