Double-weighted statement

Criteria two, three, and four apply. This edition of a poetic text with introduction and commentary (246 pages, 113,00 words—a limit strictly imposed by the editors of the series) is the product of 6 years of dedicated research. It covers an extensive, diverse and complex range of material (archaic Greek intertexts; the Roman historical context; literary genres and metre; philological, topographical, and prosopographical matter), and a considerable volume of secondary literature (11 pages of bibliography) from different fields, including literary interpretation and ‘Realien’. The diverse issues addressed necessitated extensive interdisciplinary reading.
