Dr Bradley used material published in GLL, 59.1 and JES, 36.2 when discussing the denial of censorship (pp.9-15) and the construction of the Wall (pp.36-8). The analysis of Sieben gegen Theben (pp.95-112) is based on work published in GLL, 58.1. The new version incorporates fresh material from the Stasi files and compares the censorship process with that of Faust I. The section on Leonce und Lena (pp. 136-47) is based on work published in OGS, 35.1. The new version discusses the staging alongside two further productions, incorporating additional material from the Stasi files, and showing why performances continued until 1980.
