A monograph-length modern-spelling critical edition of George Chapman's box office success, A Humorous Day's Mirth, performed at the Rose Theatre as The Comedy of Humours. The edition includes three-tiered notes, full textual collations and an in-depth critical introduction covering humours comedy and this play as the first example of the genre, its relation to Chapman's work and contemporary 1590s drama, the theatre space for which it was written (the Rose), and a full bibliographical and editorial introduction.
