This volume is a principal outcome of the AHRC large grant project "Performing Presence: from the live to the simulated", 2005-9, for which Kaye was Principal Investigator. Submission for REF is a jointly edited volume, including a jointly authored: "Introduction: Archaeologies of Presence" (Giannachi, Kaye, Shanks); jointly authored prefaces (Giannachi, Kaye, Shanks); and single-authored chapter by Kaye. This output of the AHRC funded Performing Presence project (2004-9). Co-authored and co-edited material was developed collaboratively and equally with Professor Gabriella Giannachi and Professor Michael Shanks who were project Co-Investigators.
