Additional information

Beyond demonstrating the potential inherent in FE tyre models (as outlined in part 1), the work presented in this paper explores novel research capabilities stemming from these models. Specifically, by proposing a unique way to employ a virtual tyre for the development of a mathematical model, this paper extends current simulation techniques adopted for the creation of simplified tyre models from complex ones. The approach outlined is currently used by collaborating motorsport companies to enhance understanding of tyres.
