Additional information

This work covers integrated modelling of a membrane bioreactor process, which is an emerging bioprocess technology for advanced wastewater treatment. This paper presents results from incorporating both microbiological and fouling aspects of membrane bioreactor technology in order to assess the capabilities of an integrated dynamic model. The notion of a complete model was developed through the implementation of simplified approaches to complex activated sludge models. The outcomes have illustrated the potential of the proposed complete model for simulating the membrane bioreactor process, as acknowledged by citations in subsequent research efforts.
