In addition to the chapter Allen also co-edited (with Laura Hubner) the collection Framing Film: Cinema and the Visual Arts. In this capacity he co-wrote the introductory chapter of the book. With Hubner he jointly devised the structure, layout and design of the publication and worked with the other contributors to advise on content and copyediting, before editing seven of thirteen chapters.
