Adaptive Unicast Video Streaming With Rateless Codes and Feedback
The output extends the conference paper Ahmad, Hamzaoui, Al-Akaidi (2007), Robust live unicast video streaming with rateless codes, which won the best student paper award (Ahmad supervised by Hamzaoui) at the 16th Packet Video Workshop, Lausanne. The work was partly funded by the German Research Foundation (GK-142). The proposed streaming technique was further developed for a P2P network in an FP7 research project (ICT-248175) and has led to collaboration with Telecom Bretagne (eight joint papers). Recognition of expertise in rateless codes contributed to the granting of a RaptorQ Research License by Qualcomm (contact: Consultant Technical Standards at Qualcomm).
