Additional information

This book was an output of the AHRC major award: 'Self: Hindu Responses to Buddhist Critiques’ (2008-11; including two PhD studentships, £375,000), of which Ram-Prasad was the PI. The book, based on the project conference, is co-edited by the CI, the RA and Ram-Prasad. Ram-Prasad took the lead in organising the range of topics and systems of thought to be covered in the conference/book, and wrote the introduction. As such, the book is a significant contribution to the comparative study of self, which is an emerging field in which only a few major books have yet been written.
