Additional information

This paper demonstrated that the efficiency of a power plant integrated with an amine process for carbon capture can be enhanced by optimising the amine process configuration without having to change the solvent. This paper is a key outcome of EPSRC grants EP/F034520/1 and EP/F062129/1. This work was presented at two IChemE symposia on Separation Technologies for CO2 Capture in 2011 and 2013 (http://www.icheme.org/communities/special-interest-groups/fluid%20separations/events/2013/separation%20technologies%20for%20co2%20capture.aspx) and extended research will be presented at the 2013 AIChE annual meeting (https://aiche.confex.com/aiche/2013/webprogrampreliminary/Paper335450.html). This work contributed to the successful attainment of a new EPSRC grant (EP/J02077X/1).
