I-ABM : combining institutional frameworks and agent-based modelling for the design of enforcement policies
<22>This work is a direct development of Balke's PhD (Padget was co-supervisor at the University of Bayreuth). This output is preceded by 5 workshop/conference outputs and 1 (application-oriented) journal paper (FGCS). This direction complements theoretical work with Li by showing how normative models can be used in the context of agent-based (social) simulation [Balke is now a post-doc with Nigel Gilbert at CRESS/Surrey] to evaluate the impact of policy in silico and eventually contribute to its development in the policy-making process. In follow-up work, we are exploring norm recognition and recommendation in conjunction with Savarimuthu (Otago).
