Additional information

Multi-Layer Phase Analysis is proposed as a new method to extract stiffness data from thin sections of live cells and soft biological tissues. Comparison with an established method demonstrates the new procedure has higher sensitivity and can implemented without a priori tissue or cell data. Awarded the 2012 Outstanding Paper Award by the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control in the Ultrasonics section (evidence file: Akhtar1-1).
