The first Navier-Stokes equations frequency domain calculation for rotor cases, reducing the computational time compared with the standard time domain method by a factor of 7. The method has been successfully assessed for the AW139 main rotor blade as part of the TSB Rotor Technology Validation Programme, and has been approved for adoption by AgustaWestland for calculation of rotor performance across the flight envelope (contact: James.Godman@ agustawestland.com).
