Additional information

Validated detached eddy simulations showed that acoustic disturbances resulting from high speed flow over a cavity can be reduced by up to 15 dB using shaping. A follow-on project, utilising the validated method, on the simulation of complex cavities containing stores was funded by MBDA (contact: Nigel.J.Taylor@mbda.co.uk; evidence file Barakos1-1.pdf).
