Additional information

Addresses the practical engineering problem of limited availability of test data for determining the ranges of parameter variability in finite element models, and includes experimental validation. Collaboration with the German Aerospace Centre (DLR Göttingen) includes the application of this research to a generic aircraft and is said by Tichy (DLR) to ‘make a strong impact on the problem of model updating’ (Evidence file: Mottershead3-1). The work was presented in a keynote paper at the International Conference on Vibration Problems in Prague, 5-8 September 2011 (Evidence file: Mottershead3-2).
