Additional information
A test technique for measuring the Mode II shear fracture properties of cellular materials is introduced. The influence of the shear fracture properties of the core on the perforation resistance of the sandwich structure is shown, together with perforation resistance of a very wide range of foams. The work was performed with support from Airex AG who donated the large quantities of materials involved (Evidence File: Cantwell1-1).
