Additional information

Weikop coordinated and co-edited a cluster of five articles for Tate Papers that stems from an ARTIST ROOMS symposium, an event that Weikop conceived and organised for the National Galleries of Scotland in 2011 under the aegis of the ARTIST ROOMS research partnership, led by History of Art in Edinburgh. Weikop’s own article contributes to the limited English-language literature on the Weimar photographer August Sander, placing him in a much longer tradition of German artists who turned to the motif of the peasant as a way of expressing collective national identity.
