No previous research had attempted a systematic study for the recovery of impressions in urine – results from this work demonstrated that the recovery of fine detail is also possible. This publication has been supported by the Home Office Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST, previously known as the Home Office Scientific Development Branch). The results from this research will be used by the Home Office to provide advice to police forces in the UK on how to treat footwear impressions on fabric.
