Double-weighted statement

This book is being proposed as a double-weighted output because three of the chapters for which Ellis was solely responsible, if considered together with the introduction and conclusion to the book (which Ellis co-wrote), constitute stand-alone papers. They draw on unique empirical material gathered over 3 years and each chapter makes a distinct and important theoretical contribution to STS and the Anthropology of Science. The relevant material was used exclusively in writing the book, producing a more integrated output than the alternative, which would have been the use the material in a series of separate journal papers
