Additional information

A method was developed to enable transonic aeroelastic stability prediction using very large dimension models derived from computational fluid dynamics. The method was subsequently successfully demonstrated for the analysis of an Airbus in-production aircraft with 250 million degrees of freedom, and this work is being industrialised under the TSB funded Conga project, as described in a statement from Tom Wilson from Airbus (contact Thomas.Wilson@Airbus.com; evidence file Badcock1-1.pdf).
