Additional information

Claire Gachon played a significant role in the expert annotation of the Ectocarpus siliculosus genome. She supported the optimisation of automated gene prediction by manually curating the structure of over 600 genes, and conducted the in-depth functional annotation of defense-, apoptosis and autophagy-related genes. She also supervised the contribution of M. Strittmatter for the annotation of multigenic families of cell wall proteins and homologues of plant pathogenesis-related proteins (150+ genes). Gachon contributed the corresponding figures and text for the manuscript.
