The paper has established a unique technique in the design of a capacitive multiphase flow meter for phase carrier identifications. At the time discussions were pursued into the feasibility of the implementation with a petroleum company in Norway affiliated to the University of Bergen. The work is used by other researchers to further develop their research. For example, S.C. Berato (ISBN 0018-9456) has used the work to design a non-contact capacitance transducer and S. Chun, (Print ISSN 1738-494X) used it to design an ultrasound tomography diagnostic flow metering.
