Additional information

This study was also funded by the Dutch Technology Foundation STW (s.jongerius@stw.nl), Oce Group (Louis.Saes@oce.com) and Royal Philips Electronics N.V. (Kown.Van.Os@philips.com). It introduces a unified methodology for incorporating bond failure and subsequent fibre sliding into discrete mechanical models for fibrous materials. The generic formulation is applicable to paper (Oce Group, Smurfit Kappa Group) and electronic textiles (Royal Philips Electronics N.V.). The research led to the Oce Group (Louis.Saes@oce.com) and Eindhoven University of Technology (R.H.J.Peerlings@tue.nl) gaining a funded project (with two RAs) to extend the work.
