Additional information

<01> A novel system model for power and performance of embedded cores is proposed which facilitates automatic optimization and generation of low power and high performance SoC architectures. This approach reduces design time by rapid evaluation of various configurations of cores and communication media to optimize power (i.e. extend battery life) and performance of the system. This tool has been used for evaluations in Spiral Gateway, a spin-out company from Edinburgh University. A case study of WiMAX is evaluated with different communication platforms and reconfigurable scenarios to generate an optimal architecture based on power and performance constraints.
