Additional information

This paper reports research undertaken within the EU FP7 Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative (http://www.cleansky.eu/). The methodology described allows for the simultaneous multi-objective optimisation of rotorcraft performance in the context of environmental impact. This is now being applied within the Green Rotorcraft (GRC) Integrated Technology Demonstrator (contact GRC7 Technical Lead - Chrissy Smith, Chrissy.Smith@agustawestland.com, (http://www.agustawestland.com/content/green-rotorcraft)). This led to 6 journal publications and further research with NLR, AW and Turbomeca, on the calculation of gas turbine emissions (contact GRC7 Technical Lead – Chrissy Smith, Chrissy.Smith@agustawestland.com) and a research contract (£70k) with NOESIS Solutions Intl. on multi-disciplinary optimisation (contact Mr Roberto d'Ippolito, roberto.dippolito@noesissolutions.com).
