Additional information

There has been very little research into the commercial side of airlines domiciled in Africa, and this is one of very few academic papers published in the area. The authors have a recent article in Airline Business (monthly magazine: international circulation 20,000) on the use of partnerships, and removal of government interference, to help grow Africa's airlines. O’Connell conducted a training course for Arik Air in Lagos, Nigeria in 2013 based on the research findings, which are also being incorporated into Arik Air’s long term planning strategy.
