Additional information

This paper describes the formation and characterisation of thin films that display sensing properties for volatile organic compounds. As a result of this, Leksing Ltd (www.leksing.co.uk) funded a research programme which sought to combine the macrocyclic hosts with fibre optic grating technology to develop optical sensors capable of quantifying levels of aromatic compounds / solvents in air.
