This is a report commissioned by the DCSF. It is part of a series of reports from the Effective Provision of Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Education Project (EPPSE). It is one of very few studies exploring children's experience during their transition between primary and secondary school, that is based upon a representative sample in England and has therefore attracted interest from academics and researchers working in the early years field.
