Additional information

In this paper continuous particle sampling, alongside frequent discrete sampling of airborne bacteria, is used for the first time to monitor a working hospital ward. This allows peaks in bacteria and particles to be identified and correlated to specific activities, showing highest bioaerosol generation during patient washing. These results provide information for targeting the use of air cleaning devices and enable improved bioaerosol source definition in building simulations for infection control.
