Additional information

Paper co-authored with Georgia Institute of Technology exploring image based modelling techniques developed at Exeter for material characterisation. This has led on to an EPSRC grant (EP/I038330/1) with Nottingham and Delft on asphalt modelling, invited talks (EOARDS funded) at Tomodamage conference in 2011 and 2012, and a US Air Force Research Laboratories grant on multi-scale modelling for materials. This has also led to increased interest from industry in the algorithms and tools including from The Naval Research Laboratories (USA), Arcelor Mittal, The European Space Agency and The Fraunhofer Institute all of whom have sponsored research or are commercial customers.
